I managed to fix the issue with the cut-off text and button prompts.
It’s a rather brute-force fix, so please test and see if it introduces any new issues.
This version should also fix downsampling for everyone and may improve texture clarity (forces 16xAF on everything).

My computer shuts down when I rest at a bonfire with this mod installed. Obviously that’s a huge problem, but everything other than that seems to work fine, if you can fix this problem then it would be much appreciated.

I don’t know anything about this sort of stuff, but I think it may have something to do with my computer not actually running on 1920×1080, it’s running on 1360×768. Anyways, thanks for at least taking my problem into consideration, and if you can figure it out, that’d be great. c:
Hmm… I find all this weird.
My game worked fine, and I had the option to turn it up to 1900×1080 at once when I started the game, without ever having downloaded this resolution mod. I can not be the only one who did not have any problems with the graphics?

I kinda agree, I set my resolution at the beginning of the game and I think it looks fine. Sure it’s not super awesome amazing graphics but I’m not a graphics whore so it looks good for me. I’m assuming this mod opens up more graphic options or unlocks certain locked aspects of the engine. Glad that there is already a community building around this game though… it’s a real gem and really hope we get a good sequel with the PC kept in mind from the start!

Like ‘Mike’ above me, I’m having the same FPS problem just as of today. Re-installed the .dll and all with no luck. Unplayable with the mod now it seems. So what do we think changed in the last 16 hours?
can somebody plese help me? every time i put the .dll my fps goes down to about 15 fps…..without the fix i have strait 30fps……..how do i fix it ?

I want to thank you for this fix and for developing it so swiftly after release, it really made my month. It is unfortunate that DS was released with issues like this, but I am extremely grateful to see that a dedicated fan such as yourself is willing to make this Dark Souls experience what it should have been; a shout-out for the PC gamers who love this game, not a neglected console port.

How to fix steam version with it?
Like every other version.
This is a great fix. The issue I am running into, as well as other people I have seen are, is that it causes the game crash when you have either MSI Afterburner or Precision X open. Both programs are used to set fan profiles and over clock the GPU. so without them open some cards may get entirely way to hot. Any word on a work a round? Because you fix does wonders for the game, but can’t play with precision x open

When I add these 2 files into the folder with DARKSOULS.exe, the game just crashes and stops responding on start up. Doesn’t seem like many other people are having this problem, and a friend of mine that HAS done this mod says it worked perfect for him.
Any advice?

This mod works as advertised on my AMD HD 6770, still some rather unpleasant lag and stutter in Blight Town as before, only it looks a lot better

Great fix man thanks the game looked kinda mushy at first now I can enjoy it a lot more.
It is a sloppy port but hey it works and with a controller at your hand everything is fantastic

Do you think there will ever be a version that is compatible with the blur effect in Dark souls , I really quite like it. (1080p FAR outweighs that blur effect , game looks twice as good, so again thankyou for your hard work)

I cannot find my darksouls.exe file. Therefore, I cannot use this mod.. unfortunately! Any help/pointers would be great.

also quick question how do i get rid of the black boxes on the game? its just the top and bottom that have black boxes i mean i can see the game and all of the stuff fine but its just those black boxes are there.

I assume you’re running on a 16:10 aspect ratio monitor? Just change the rendering resolution in DSfix.ini to your native res
I am wondering about the same thing … I followed the instruction and all … is that fix supposed to remove the black box or not ? .. (im aksing because the screen shot ive seen of people with that fix have no black box under and over the screen)

Thank you so very much for this! I had no trouble with DS vanilla, but with this fix the game is that much more beautiful! Running on an AMD card and there doesn’t appear to be too many fps issues; I’ll let you know if anything changes.
my gpu doesn’t seem to be getting used when I change the files… it seems like its using integrated graphics instread. any ideas?
Now hopefully some nerd comes up with some nude modding, and maybe some monsters that molest the characters in true anime fashion will this game be complete.

It’s exceedingly unlikely. But it’s still at your own risk since I can’t guarantee 100% that nothing bad will happen.
Does any know how to fix the problem where if you block, backstab, or take damage the game will freeze?
